I help Australian adults suffering from burnout. Most of my patients are professionals who want to manage their burnout before it destroys their career. As someone with both professional and personal experience of burnout, I guide my patients through setting achievable & realistic goals, taking clear action steps, considering their severity of burnout, stage of recovery, and personal circumstances.
Appointment structure & availability
Delivered after-hours via Telehealth
Appointments are convenient for people who struggle to access standard medical/counseling appointments due to barriers such as workload, mobility & isolation.
You attend appointments from the comfort of your own home, using video Skype on your computer. Prior to your appointment, please check that your audio and video are functioning, as both of these will be required for a successful appointment. You will need to use headphones and not speakers for the audio element to avoid disruptive echoes.
Short waiting times
With a strictly limited client load, I am able to offer flexible appointment times, and short waiting-periods.
Most appointments last for an hour, providing plenty of time to thoroughly explore and address issues.
All appointments constitute a formal doctor-patient relationship. Confidentiality is and consult notes are maintained as per Australian law.
These are 1 hour appointments with an aim to thoroughly explore the challenges you are facing and to determine a plan. Most patients benefit from ongoing support and accountability over a period of weeks or months. Discounted appointment rates are available for those who commit to longer-term counselling and wish to pay for multiple appointments up-front.
If you know you’re burnt-out and you want to get stuck into sorting out the issues and taking concrete action, then these counselling sessions are your best option.
Fees are paid up-front upon booking. All fees are privately funded by the patient, with no Medicare rebate available.
Burnout Counseling, 1 hr, $137 (usual price $279)
(Reduced student rate: $99 – usually $239)
For those engaging in ongoing burnout counselling, you can also purchase packages of multiple appointments up-front at a discounted rate. These are invoiced individually and can be discussed at an appointment, or you can contact email@example.com
Will I prescribe medications or become your GP?
No. I do not prescribe any medications, and you will need to see your GP or specialist to address this aspect of your care. If I feel that you require medication or more detailed specific expertise in any of these areas, I will refer you to the appropriate healthcare provider (such as GP or psychologist) with your consent.
How do you book an appointment?
Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange an alternative time. Once a time is agreed upon, you will confirm your booking and pay through Halaxy.
You will receive confirmation of your scheduled appointment via email, and a reminder of your appointment 2 days prior to the scheduled appointment.
Appointments generally occur promptly at scheduled time, but please leave me your contact number when booking so I can let you know if I am running more than 5 minutes late due to unforeseen circumstances.
If you do not respond to a scheduled call, and have not given prior notice of cancellation, then you will be charged the full fee. I will wait a reasonable time period and make a reasonable attempt to reach you.
Rescheduling or cancelling of your appointment must be done with more than 24 hours notice prior to appointment start time to avoid a cancellation fee (your full payment will be refunded). If you provide less than 24 hours notice when cancelling or rescheduling appointments, you will be charged 50% of the fee for that appointment (50% of your payment will be refunded).
If I need to reschedule your appointment due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances, I will make contact with you as soon as I am aware of this. I will do my best to accommodate you with a rescheduled appointment to suit you, or will cancel and refund your appointment if a satisfactory alternative cannot be found.
By booking an appointment you give permission for your personal and health-related details to be stored on the HealthKit website. This includes personal and non-personal data, including health records and payment information. Prior to booking an appointment, you must read and consent to the HealthKit terms and conditions, and particularly section 15, which outlines how HealthKit may use information.
I maintain client confidentiality in accordance with the Australian Medical Association guidelines. Confidentiality may be breached only under extenuating circumstances as permitted by law, such as if there is a reasonable belief that a client may cause imminent and serious harm to themselves, an identifiable individual or group of persons.
